Vegan Greeter Program

Are you a vegan visiting Bengaluru (Bangalore) or traveling through India? Visiting a new place can be daunting, and while India has plenty of lactovegetarian options (commonly referred to as "pure veg"), being a vegan could be difficult if you don't know what to ask for and what to avoid.

The Vegan Greeter Program is a free service for vegans or those interested in veganism planning to visit or are relocating to or are already at Bengaluru, India. Veganopia will help you on the linguistic, cultural and geographical aspects so that you can confidently ask for vegan items and also be aware of items that would most likely be non-vegan. Get information on local vegan restaurants (there are now several completely vegan ones in Bengaluru) and forthcoming vegan events. Meet up with local vegans if you'd like to.

Even if you're not visiting Bengaluru (Bangalore) as part of your journey through India, you can still ask for information about India, Indian vegan cuisine and culture in general. You may be directed to better sources of information as appropriate.

Please note:

  • This is for vegans and people interested in veganism, including those in India.
  • Your safety and well being are considered important. That's one less thing to worry about.
